The Hills Clinic offers day group programs for those patients who
require ongoing support for mood and anxiety. An experienced mental health
professional runs the group and reinforces the topics that are covered
during the 21-day inpatient program. The day group outpatient program is
extremely beneficial to patients as they apply new strategies to help them
in their everyday lives. The program focuses on building skills for better
mental health. It is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based treatment and is
designed to follow on from the inpatient program. CBT is the most well
researched form of therapy and shown to be very effective in the treatment
of mood and anxiety. The program focuses on the “here and now” and teaches
skills for thinking, feeling and acting in ways which promote better mental
health.

Mood and Anxiety Cognitive Behaviour Therapy  (CBT)

Duration: 10 weeks (open group)

The day group outpatient program is extremely beneficial to patients as they apply new strategies to help them in their everyday lives. The program focuses on building skills for better mental health. It is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based treatment and is designed to follow on from the inpatient program.   • Goal setting
  • Problem solving
  • Core Beliefs
  • Health Thinking
  • Dealing with relapse

The CBT program is a group based treatment for people over the age of 18 years. CBT focuses on active strategies with an emphasis on self-management while incorporating a strong cognitive –behavioural approach. Mindfulness and one’s connection with values is also explored. Participants will work towards a personal vision of recovery and learn to live more effectively and experience quality relationships.

When: Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm – 8.00pm with light refreshments included.
